Gluhwein (DIY and cheap!)

It’s tradition in Germany to drink Gluhwein during Weinachstmarkt (which, if you’ve never been to one, is kind of like if everyone who had an Etsy set up shop in a townsquare during winter, wrapped themselves in Christmas lights, and got roaring drunk).

Ingredients:

A bottle of cheap, dry red wine (balls to the wall with: MD 20/20)

4 cinnamon sticks

1/3 cup of sugar

3 whole cloves (don’t have them? fuck it!)

1 orange

12 ounces of E&J Brandy or any store-brand dark rum

Poor wine into pot and turn on low heat. Once warm, add sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add brandy/rum. Heat completely but do not allow to boil. Slice up the orange and toss that shit in there. Simmer for twenty minutes.

Serve hot with orange slices. Mug to the face and blast off. You will feel warm and happy.

edit: You can add more sugar after you pour the rum in, if you so desire. Just make sure to stir it really well. Sometimes I like to use more than one orange, cause I enjoy the citrusy taste. Fuck around with it. Also, the amount of rum you add is up to you, I make mine heavy.

If I were to be a serial killer, I’d like to think I’d be like Jean-Baptiste Grenouille in that sick ass movie Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. I saw this movie about three years ago and apparently it’s based on a book called Das Parfum - who knew they did that with movies these days?

- Dude kills a bunch of women and wraps them up in goo stuff and takes their scent to combine to make the most beautiful scent in the world. When he releases the amazing perfume everyone goes nuts and there’s a massive orgy. Not to be forgotten: ALAN RICKMAN and DUSTIN HOFFMAN are in it.

THE POINT
- I’m really good at assigning scents to people and it bothers me when that scent changes. Whatever, now I’m a serial killer BFD.
